少なくとも音楽的には、素晴らしいコンサートだった。一流のミュージシャン、例えばクリスチャン・ジャコブ、川久保賜紀、遠藤真理、森麻季といったメンバーがこの日一同に会して、村井邦彦の音楽をこれ以上ないほど美しく歌い上げた。
コンサート全体を通じて、村井邦彦の美的センスが貫かれており、彼の曲であろうが他の人の曲であろうがそれは疑いもなく感じられたが、あくまでこのコンサートのマスターはクリスチャン・ジャコブであったといえる。彼はほとんどの曲のピアノを弾き、最後のアンコール曲まで演奏した。実際、ヤマハホールとヤマハのピアノはこの日の彼のために作られたかのように完璧な音響効果を生んでいた。
コンサート終了後、観客は音楽的には満足したと思われるが、コンサート中に村井邦彦氏によって答えられなかった疑問を抱えたのではないだろうか。例えば、なぜ村井邦彦作品発表コンサートで、彼の作曲でない曲が多く演奏されたのか、またなぜギタリスト村治奏一が予告なく出演して脈絡もなく3曲のラテン曲を演奏したのかなど（注）。これはナイトクラブのパフォーマンスではなく、ホールコンサートで、その場合は高いチケット代を払った参加者は音楽以上の満足を得ることを通常期待することに心すべきであろう。

Murai Concert Report
What a concert it was, at least in terms of music! A number of first-rate musicians, including Christian Jacob, Tamaki Kawakubo, Maki Mori, and others, got together to perform Kuni Murai’s music in an exquisite manner for the evening.
Throughout the concert, Kuni Murai’s sense of beauty was unmistakably present, regardless of whether the music performed was written by him or others. However, there was no doubt that the master of this concert was Christian Jacob, who played the piano most of the time, including the encore song. Actually, it looked as though Yamaha Hall and the Yamaha piano were made just for him to perform that evening; it was acoustically so perfect.
It appears that most audience went home with satisfaction in terms of music, but with some questions never answered by Kuni Murai in the concert such as why so many songs written by others were performed in the "Kuni Murai song concert" and why guitarist Soichi Muraji appeared without prior notice and played three Latin songs, apparently out of context (see footnote). After all, this was not a night club performance, but a hall concert, where audiences normally expect to obtain full satisfaction beyond music for the money.
